Tangy Carrot Juice With a Kick

Hello world!  This is my very first post on my very first blog.  I’m excited to begin this journey and I hope that you will find my blog engaging and interesting, and that in turn, I will learn from you and grow in many ways as I develop this blog.  Anyways, there’s my opening schpiel (sp?) and now let’s get this thing started with a kick!!

If you’re new or old to juicing, this recipe is a great one for all!  It’s got lots of beneficial nutrients from the vegetables, and the apples give it just the right amount of sweetness.  The citrus flavor of the lemon and lime give the subtle flavors of the carrot and apple juice a refreshing twist, and the bite of the ginger, cilantro, and the secret ingredient provide the kick!

Tangy Carrot Juice with a Kick

  • image4 medium carrots unpeeled, chopped in large pieces
  • 2 smallish red delicious apples, cut in slices
  • 1/2 1 small lime, peeled and sliced in half
  • 1/2 1 medium lemon, peeled and sliced in half
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/3 cup cilantro
  • 1 thin slice ginger
  • the secret ingredient! – 1 dash chili powder

Directions:

Cut all ingredients to fit into the feeder of your juicer, beginning with the softer produce.  If the apples start to clog up the feeding tube, try feeding in a few carrots – that always seems to help clear it out.  Feed in the greens last.  Top with a dash of chili powder.  Drink immediately and enjoy!  Makes one large glass of juice.

  1. Jamie I am so excited about this blog. I am getting ready to try the carrot juice with a kick. You know Uncle West loves his carrot juice!!!

  2. OMG that was sooooooooooooo good! For me its the lemon, ginger and chili powder that changes the taste from just regular carrot juice and apple. When I would make carrot juice for Uncle West I would put apple always then different stuff might be spinach, cucumber, etc. I would have a hard time drinking it. This for me was as good as drinking a lemonade or koolaid (lol). So I think you get my point this was super good. I was a little not sure about the lemon but wow it is so good!!

    • Glad you liked it!! If you want to try another recipe with carrot juice, I’d recommend the sweet potato delight. It’s sweeter that the one you just made but still a bit tangy from the cranberries. Thanks for checking out my blog and for the sweet comments 🙂
